I know what you’re thinking. It’s Friday, and you want to put those headphones in and get up close and personal audio-wise with some people you trust. You’re in luck then, because this week on the podcast we are joined by the dulcet-toned voice of music video director Dugan O’Neal - for the whole podcast.

We talk about all lots of things. Dugan embarrassing himself meeting Andy Samburg in the early 2000’s, the Rachel Bilson “Call Me Doctor” video, and most importantly, dress shoes.

So crank up the volume and let your 3 hosts entertain your soul.

Are you a Spotify user? Over here at FilmedInsert we love it, and we love the integration the Spotify app has with the desktop and mobile browsing experience. That’s why we recently integrated Spotify’s new play button feature right into the site on the video page. Now when you are viewing a video, you can see the full artwork for the song, and if you are a Spotify user, you can play the song right then and there. You can star it or add it to a playlist. It helps ensure that if you find a video that you love with a song to go along with it, you can easily capture that song for later enjoyment. It’s just one of the many new ways we have coming up to keep you connected to music videos.

Are you in Los Angeles this weekend? If so, you should really be at the 2nd Annual LA Music Video festival, happening tonight and tomorrow at the Downtown Independent Theatre. Tickets are $12 for each day, and go to benefit the amazing OMG! Cameras Everywhere!.
But we haven’t gotten to the most exciting part yet - FilmedInsert’s very own Doug Klinger is going to be moderating the Comedy panel tonight at 7:30. We’re over 36% sure he won’t screw it up!
Some other reasons you should go:
Eric Wareheim is going to be there tonight to talk about his music video work.
Doug has a bunch of business cards and you could get one.
The LAMVF has all sorts of awesome events including a live sync video on Saturday with Seventeen Evergreen.
So get down to the festival this weekend - support music videos, support a great organization (O!CE!), and get one of Doug’s business cards!
For all the info, check out the fest’s official site and follow them on Twitter.

Download External Audio

It’s Friday, so sit back, relax, and listen to the sweet sounds of Adam and Doug interviewing music video director AG Rojas in the new Music Video Land podcast, Carrie Underwood is Alive with AG Rojas.

We’ll talk about his new Jack White music video, working with Odd Future, and the correct spelling of his name (hint: it’s AG Rojas). It’ll be fun, come on.

Also, Doug and Adam have a quasi-scoop on the Tupac Coachella hologram. Basically, we think Josh Harraway was a body model for the Tupac rendering. Try and prove us wrong!

If you are Lonely Island fan, you probably recognize E-40’s voice as Santana from the track “Santana DVX” off of the 2009 album “Incredibad”. The track is about Santana’s champagne (which actually does exist, and can be yours for $45 a bottle).

That’s why the new E-40 video caught my eye. Released on March 26, it has a brief moment at 2:33 where E-40 references promoting his OWN drink, Landy cognac. Although the cognac does not bear his name, we think this is a nice way to come full circle.

If you are a frequent FilmedInsert visitor, you may have noticed we recently rolled out a new interface. We’ve made (and continue to make) a lot of tweaks to how things look, but one of the coolest new features is the FilmedInsert video browser.
A lot of times I want to browse the images for an artist or director and I find myself confronted with a grid of thumbnails representing their video output. In the format, I need to choose one and then go to that video page. It’s great to find a video you are looking for, but not great to browse a group of videos to get a feel for an artist or director.
Discovering music videos is all about browsing, so we designed a new interface to do that: the creatively titled video browser. It lists all the videos on the left hand side, and then as you scroll down, the current video selection remains on your screen on the right hand side. Find a new video, click (or tap it), and see it right there. You can easily browse videos without clicking around to a ton of different pages.
This is the first incarnation of the video browser, and we’ve got a lot more features planned for it in the future. Let us know what you think!
